DYNACO Mark IV Mono Tube Amplifier

SEE HOW TO BUY

A MK IV pair without covers, tubes, shipping or any options is $2,500.00

This is the special order MK IV. The base price shown is for a single amplifier without upgrades, options or tubes. The MKIV is a single channel (MONO) amplifier producing 40 watts. Used as a pair, one per channel, this will create a 80 watt stereo tube amplifier system. The MK IV amps sound incredible with that EL34 signature and amazing impact and stereo channel separation.

These Dynaco MK IV (MKIV) amplifiers are custom built and can be outfitted to your liking. These will (usually) have a 4-5 week production period, It takes some time to order and assemble the components, and of course time for building and testing the unit. Usually there will be other orders in que to complete before I get to your build. The component varieties, brands and features offered are proven top performers. You can "pick and choose" from these options with confidence for a great sounding amp.

The photos shown are of previous units with options and upgrades, to provide visual examples. Generally speaking, most units look very similar when completed, but your specific unit will have all the special features you have chosen.

Essentially, each MK IV is 1/2 of a Dynaco 70 with a few more watts available. The proprietary PA-135 output transformers push each amp at 40 watts continuously and up to 90 watts peak. Each channel has an A-470 output transformer, just like an ST-70 uses. The amplifier/driver circuit even uses the same component values and topology as the ST-70.

Because each amp has its own set of transformers and its own driver board a true stereo separation is achieved beyond what the ST-70 is capable of.

Each amp also utilizes its own 5AR4/GZ34 rectifier and filter capacitor, so these duties are accomplished more efficiently and effectively than with an ST-70, which shares a single rectifier tube and filter capacitor between each channel.

These are possibly my favorite sounding amps. These amps are quiet and transparent yet will drive most speakers effortlessly to levels way outside the normal comfort range with seemingly no distortion. At low to low-moderate levels I cannot say enough about how pleasant and detailed the sound is. The strings and voice are realistically present, bass is strong and solid. Just beautiful across the entire spectrum.
